What you should know BEFORE applying. . .

This is going to sound really good to lots of people. So, what is the downside? We miss out on hiring talented people who prefer to work within a more traditional structure.

No judgment, we 100% know everyone is different but before considering this opportunity it is important to really look at who you are. You will be way, way outside your comfort zone if:

• overly positive people aren’t your cup of tea

• you are not ok with travel

• you are not ok being on camera

• you do not like feedback 

• you have low energy and like to mostly sit and work

• you are not good with change

• you are not good with the chaos before we set a structure

• you are not good with implementing structure in the midst of unstructured creativity

• you are afraid of dogs or cats

• you don’t like deadlines

• you are not ok with no alcohol (on the property), drugs or smoking

We have an incredibly unique way of doing things that will make this the greatest creative experience of your life, but the chaos before the organization takes some getting used to. This is all part of building businesses and working creatively.

This is a diverse and ever-changing hive of creative energy, so we don’t look for one-trick ponies here. We look for people who fit into our culture, with great attitudes, who are multi-talented, with different skills and interests. For example, if you’re a person who loves to travel, paint, eat, bake, watch British television shows and have great adventures… This could indeed be a job for you.

• free accommodation on Cedar Heart Farm Salt Spring (there is a housing shortage on the island, you will likely not be able to find housing here)

• for Studio Directors applying: you can run admin from the Island while on sabbatical
